PICB has recovered $610,646.00 from non-paying customers!

  By Andrea Schlack

A recently won case involved a routine and repeat credit offender who was well known locally for not paying his bill. It was the common belief that this credit thief was the reason several old companies was forced to close their doors and despite this rotten reputation a non-member printer gave this credit con a line of credit and needless to say the Printer not get paid.....Until PICB was engaged. The money was recently recovered but not without a fight.....We WON the legal victory. The Printer recovered all he was due and has since joined his local PIA affiliate.

PICB has provided PIA members with more than 400 Credit Risk Assessments on potential customers!

Most of these customers scored well or average as is expected, but we did see a new recent low customer score. This potential customer who was asking for a line of credit actually scored a negative 38. The score was based upon more than 10 Federal Tax Liens, Several state liens recorded by the department of revenue + a number of recent law suits naming this company as the defendant. Our research also revealed that this credit con had previously operated several prior failed businesses....clearly this was a credit thief looking for an easy victim but was stopped by PICB.

Remember bad debt may be  a consequence of doing business but who we grant credit to is a choice......Let PICB help you make good choices before suffering a bad debt loss.

CREDIT TIPS

Sometimes the words spoken by others carry more meaning, even though that which you said means the same therefore let the below email from Rutledge Printing Company, a long time client and member of PIA, be your cautionary tale rather than a dire premonition.

Andrea,

Just thought I might share something with you and then follow up with a Thank You.  Recently, I was in an industrial condo area conducting some business and I saw a sign that looked like a possible customer for me.  I did a little looking on line and figured they might be print brokers and therefore fair game for me.  I stopped by there this morning and a very pleasant conversation with the owner.  Very friendly and talkative.  I concluded my meeting with him by suggesting he check with me for some pricing on some upcoming projects.   Fast forward 6 hours, and after thinking about some of the names he dropped, I decided to look him up on Riskee Business.

Thank You!  I see he and his father have 5 collections claims in Riskee Business against their companies totaling almost $70,000.

Regards,

Rick Marks
